《CNN》報導，土耳其足球隊貝西克塔什（Beşiktaş）26日對上安塔莉亞隊（Antalyaspor），比賽進行到4分17秒時暫停哀悼，因強震於清晨4點17分發生。
此時現場球迷將大量各色大小不同的泰迪熊玩偶拋入球場，綠色草皮瞬間佈滿泰迪熊，球員也幫忙集中玩偶，物資將會捐給土耳其受災兒童。
其中也有球迷高喊「政府下台」，以抗議政府對災難來襲反應慢半拍，救援物資運送不及，災後處理效率不足，導致罹難者遺體惡臭蔓延。
